4 Healthy Labor Day Food Options

Next, add a small amount of your favorite shredded cheese, close the stuffed chicken breast, add any seasoning you’d like, and place it on the grill.
  • Turkey Burger Skewers. You are going to love this alternative to a grilling favorite. Instead of cooking large, oversized burgers, try reducing the serving size with skewers! Start by creating small balls of lean ground turkey, then add small pieces of cherry tomatoes, pickle slices, and seasoning of choice. Put them on the grill until the meat is thoroughly cooked, let them cool, then enjoy!
  • Loaded Sweet Potatoes. A healthier, lower calorie alternative to the standard potato, sweet potatoes offer a delicious side to any grilled entree. Wrap a medium-sized sweet potato in foil and bake or cook on the grill for 15 minutes or until you can easily cut into it. Once it is cooked, slice the potato open, add plain Greek yogurt (sour cream alternative), chopped veggies, and a small serving of cheese.
  • Stuffed Bell Peppers. Cut a few medium to large bell peppers in half. Add black beans and a small serving of cheese. Cook them in the oven or on the grill for 7–10 minutes. After they have been cooked, add a small serving of plain Greek yogurt and your favorite hot sauce to give them a kick!
