Staying energized throughout the entire day can sometimes be a challenge. We live busy lives that can often put a damper on keeping a healthy, balanced routine. Do you find yourself struggling to stay focused at work? Are you irritable more than you used to be? Do you resist social or physical activity at the end of the day because of fatigue? Well, sometimes it can seem like we’ll never have the energy we need to get through the day, but, in fact there are several simple, healthy ways to boost energy.

  1. Exercise. Sometimes the thought of exercise can be tiring, but studies show that even when we feel tired we can be rejuvenated after just 20 minutes of exercise. Exercise increases hormones that make us feel happy and energized, in addition to increasing cardiovascular endurance which helps us stay energized during the day. It also helps us sleep better, which certainly boosts energy during the day. So, get out there and exercise!

  2. Drink enough water. Water is essential. For your body to operate with energy throughout the day, you need to stay hydrated. While it is possible to get a significant amount of water from a healthy diet, it is not enough. The best way to calculate your fluid needs every day is to divide your weight in half and drink that number of ounces throughout the day. It may seem like a lot at first, but give it a try!

  3. Include calcium & iron-rich foods in your diet. An iron deficiency can cause you to be sluggish, weak, and tired. Iron-rich foods such as lean beef, eggs, tofu, leafy vegetables, and nuts are an important part of a healthy diet. Pair these iron-rich foods with foods high in Vitamin C for optimal results, as iron absorbs into the body better when combined with Vitamin C.

  4. Eat a healthy breakfast. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. After a night’s sleep, your body needs a healthy boost to get your metabolism up and running for the day. If you skip breakfast, you are only depriving your body of the nutrients it needs. Also, if you eat a poor breakfast you set your body up for sluggishness or a crash later on in the day. All you need for a healthy energy boost in the morning is a balanced breakfast. Choose from healthy proteins, such as eggs, yogurt, or almond butter, whole grains, and fruit for a nutritious, energy-boosting breakfast.

  5. Take a deep breath. This can mean different things depending on your energy boosting needs. If you are anxious, over-worked, stressed, etc. then taking a deep breath could simply be stepping back from something in your life. It could also mean taking time out of your day to meditate or do yoga to center yourself and draw energy for the day. Our bodies need oxygen to function, so it is important to be mindful of breathing to stay energized throughout the day.

In addition to these energy-boosting tips, healthy weight management can also help increase energy. We suggest adding a supplement such as LOWAT® to your daily regimen. LOWAT has been clinically studied to show healthy weight loss through randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled research.
