Everyone has an opinion about the best solution to weight loss. While many of their tips and tricks may be valid opinions, it may not always be the right answer. Over the years, we’ve heard a lot of weight loss rumors that have led people to believe that they can’t lose the weight. The truth is, many of those rumors are myths, and you can lose the weight. Let’s take a look at a few.

Myth #1: Snacking throughout the day leads to weight gain.

Contrary to what you may have heard, snacking throughout the day doesn’t automatically lead to weight gain. Of course there are better choices than others, it’s always important to keep in mind the types of snacks you are eating. Enjoying healthier options such are carrots instead of chips, or apple slices instead of candy will help keep your metabolism going and curb your appetite.

Myth #2: Weighing in daily is counter-productive for weight loss.

There are plenty of theories out there about if, when, and how often you should weigh yourself. The truth is, the scale can be a highly useful tool, but should not be your measurement of health and happiness. We recommend that you try not to let the scale control you, however stepping on the scale at the same time in the morning can help you keep track of your daily progress.

Myth #3: Eating more fruits and vegetables will inevitably lead to weight loss.

The common myth is that by simply increasing fruit and vegetable intake, one will lose weight. Healthy foods don’t necessarily counter-balance the bad. Although natural foods such as fruits and vegetables are crucial to a healthy diet, it’s important to cut out foods that are unhealthy such as chips, soda, and candy.

Myth #4: Drinking more water will inevitably lead to greater weight loss.

Hydration plays a vital role in good health, however drinking more water won’t always lead to instant weight loss. While we encourage you to drink more water, it’s also important to cut out sugary juices, sodas, and alcoholic beverages to see the benefits!

Myth #5: Salad is always the better choice.

We’ve all been in the position when we are faced with a food decision and instantly think of salad as the healthy choice. The fact is that many salads, especially at restaurants have just as many, if not more calories and fat than other entrees because of the excess dressing and toppings. If you’re ordering a salad or making one at home, opt for a vinaigrette dressing and load up on the veggies. Opt out of toppings such as croutons, bacon, and excess cheese.

Myth #6: All fast food is bad.

Fast food has a bad reputation of not having healthy food options and for good reason. Most of the food choices on popular fast food chains are loaded with fat, sodium, artificial fillers, and calories. However, healthier options are beginning to pop up on menus of new and existing fast food chains. Many places are now listing their calorie and fat information on the menus. Do a little research before you go out to eat to find options that can help you stay on track!

While there are many myths about losing weight and staying healthy, it’s important to ultimately pay attention to how your body feels and reacts to the food that you eat. There are common guidelines that are always smart to pay attention to, however, everyone’s body is different. When trying to lose the weight, we recommend that you check out a supplement that includes Meratrim®. Meratrim has been studied extensively in clinical, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies to help achieve weight loss goals.
