When it comes to cutting calories, every little bit helps. One of the fastest ways to cut calories from your diet is to focus on calories you may be drinking. Beverages such as juice, soda, and alcohol can add up quickly! Try these infused water recipes to keep yourself refreshed while avoiding excess calories.

Making infused water is quick and easy. All you need is filtered water, ice cubes and the ingredients for your flavored waters. Make sure to crush the fruit slightly and bruise the leaves of any herbs you may be using to fully release the flavor. When it comes to creating new flavors, don’t limit yourself to only using fruit. When it comes to flavor combinations there are so many options! We recommend incorporating stronger flavors using vanilla beans or basil paired with a lighter fruit.

If you need ideas, think about some of your favorite salads or fruit smoothies for inspiration. To get you started, we’ve compiled a few options for you below.

A few slices of apple and a handful of crushed cherries are all you need to test out this flavorful combination. With just a touch of sweetness, this infusion can help curb cravings while keeping you hydrated.

Strawberry Basil

Strawberry and basil may seem like a strange combination at first, but trust us this one. The antioxidants in strawberries and basil make this healthy combination, so drink up!

Cantaloupe Grape

Cantaloupe and grape are both sugary fruits which make for a flavorful combination for those who like their infused water a little sweeter.

Vanilla Bean and Peaches

If you’re looking for something a little different, try incorporating vanilla beans into your water. Vanilla bean works well with peaches, pears, and orange. You can try it with any fruit you have on hand, so get creative!

The strong flavor of ginger balanced very well with pear. Just make sure you use the ginger sparingly, as it is easy to overuse ginger. A sliver or two is typically more than enough.

The bitterness in rosemary complements the sweetness of the watermelon. Try this infusion for your next picnic.

You’ve probably tried cucumber-infused water at some point, but you can take it up a notch by adding mint.
