How To Stay Fit During Your Summer Theme Park Trip

Summertime means that many families are soon to leave on a vacation. While you're likely to have a lot of fun, these summer trips aren't always nice to your weight loss goals. This is especially true if your plans involve a trip to a theme park. Not only will it be harder to stay on your diet, there's a good themepark food funchance that you could be sitting down for a lot of the trip and not exercising.

You can still stay fit during your summer theme park trip, but you'll have to have a plan. Follow these three tips and you'll be on the right track.

1. Look for active rides and experiences

While a trip to most theme parks means a lot of standing in lines before sitting on rides, you can target certain rides and experiences that will keep you a lot more active. At Disneyland, for example, you should search out Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes. Instead of being a ride that follows a motorized track, these are real canoes floating in a moderately long river through the back of the park. Paddling along in unison with your family can give you a real arm and shoulder workout. You'll be having fun but getting a serious workout at the same time.

2. Don't go overboard on junk food

Going to a theme park will definitely mean that you're surrounded by lots of junk food. Any park is going to have its fair share of greasy nachos, corndogs and pizza. Just because it's all around you doesn't mean that you have to eat it, though. Search out the healthier options that theme parks are now including. You may need to look a little longer, but they'll be there. Jump past the Monte Cristo deep-fried sandwich and pick the green salad instead. Your body will thank you later.

3. Walk whenever possible and take the long routes!

Many theme parks aren't designed with your fitness in mind and will try to keep you seated as long as possible. Instead of riding trams or other methods of transportation around the park and from the parking lot to the front gates, you should actively seek out ways to increase your walking distance. Many travelers will naturally try to take the most efficient route from ride to ride, but walking farther is actually great exercise! Feel free to crisscross the park on longer routes. You'll get an excellent leg workout by the end of the day, and it's not bad cardio, either.

Dietary supplements that help

Finding ways to put in more exercise is a great start to losing weight. Without exercising and working to lead a more active lifestyle, you are significantly lowering your chances of achieving a healthy weight. You don't have to stop with exercise, though. Meratrim is a dietary supplement that helps you lose weight faster than with just exercise.  Made from the Garcinia mangostana fruit and the Sphaeranthus indicus flower, it's a special formulation that will help you get to your ideal weight faster. Give it a shot today!
