For anyone who maintains a healthy lifestyle, staying hydrated plays a key role. Drinking water helps maintain your body’s balance of fluids, and help it work more efficiently. Water is also an important workout buddy, helping your muscles perform better and replacing fluid lost by sweating. When it comes to hydrating your body, nothing beats a tall glass of water. But did you know there are many foods that are an excellent source of water? Here are a few of our healthy favorites:

Not only is this healthy green packed with nutrients, but it’s also composed mostly of water. Try making a quick salad using plenty of fresh spinach. Or, if you’re not a huge fan of the taste, you can combine it with other flavors to still get the benefits. Mix up some spinach in a smoothie with some of your favorite fruits for a tasty and hydrating snack.

This sweet-tasting root vegetable might not look juicy, but radishes are quite hydrating! Enjoy raw, sliced radishes on their own or add them as a garnish on your favorite salad. You can also enjoy sliced radishes as an appetizer by placing them on a slice of bread with a little bit of soft cheese.

Pineapples are an excellent source of vitamin C and are also a tasty way to rehydrate! Enjoy this delicious fruit on its own, or try some creative recipes. Place fresh chopped pineapple on skewers with peppers and chicken, and grill until done for a quick and delicious dinner.

If you were trying to make a list of water-rich foods, beans probably wouldn’t come to mind. However, cooked beans provide more than just fiber and protein. Beans pack a lot of water, which makes them a nice choice for a hearty post-workout meal. Try adding some cooked beans to a healthy wrap, or even mix some in with your favorite salad.

Give your healthy hydration routine a boost by adding some of these hydrating foods, and your body will reap the rewards! Beyond its overall health benefits, staying hydrated also helps your skin stay healthy and youthful-looking, and can make you feel full, so you’re less likely to snack when you aren’t hungry. If you want to maintain a healthy weight, staying hydrated is an important component of your routine. And if you are looking for other ways to support your healthy weight loss goals, consider adding a supplement such as LOWAT®.
